The VR controllers (I have an index) do work. I have a G2 and I wouldn't want to use anything else but my controllers, gamepad wouldn't feel the same flying or doing 90% of the things you do. It would probably feel like I have my hands tied together. Last edited by Kobs ; Jun 28, 2021 @ 4:04pm. #6.

So it is perfectly playable in VR. However, it does help to fine-tune graphics settings to tailor your machine's configuration. Just because a PC can do NMS on Ultra on all settings, does by no means guarantee it being able to run Ultra in VR. You need to fiddle around with some configs.
No Man’s Sky is now fully playable in virtual reality. Many interactions have been given special VR-only options, including: grabbing plants and other collectables with your hands; physically opening the cockpits of ships and exocraft; piloting starships directly with a VR stick/throttle; and punching objects to cause damage.
I've never used VR, but I'm definitely intrigued with it; think this game would be perfect for it.. although I do worry about performance a bit because it's all procedurely generated on the fly. And when should I but it for this game? My system is: GTX 980M I7-4720 HQ quad core 2.6 ghz 16 gigs RAM I'm hoping with my specs VR will work decently
