When people exercise, their hearts work harder to deliver blood and oxygen to their muscles. A heart rate monitor can help you determine how hard your heart is working and plan your workout accordingly. Garmin’s HRM-Run prototype heart rate monitor uses gyroscopes and accelerometers to measure your heart rate.
But unfortunately it is still not working correctly. Connected via Ant+ to my watch and via Bluetooth to my headwind , i can see it on Zwift it has four green bars in the Zwift app, but does not send any heart rate to the app. Disconnected etc. no change. Very annoying. I definitely have only problems with the new firmware. I have a nearly 7 year old Garmin HRM run 1st generation and while the module itself is still working and did with all my forerunner watches, the strap has been changed quite a few times. I've gone through 2 garmin straps, a polar strap (which was the best) and currently using a CooSpo strap.
Like it or not, Garmin just made itself a competitor to Stryd. For pure running power and RD metrics, that means Stryd costs roughly three times as much as Garmin for the exact same data (RD-POD is $69, versus Stryd at $199). Stryd would (rightfully) argue they have a wider online platform in running analytics.
The $99.99 Garmin HRM-Run is unique, and a glorious, piece of running gear for data junkies. Thanks to a built-in accelerometer, when you run with it and a compatible fitness tracker, you get six

Indrajeet over 4 years ago. Garmin 245 is barely one month old and since yesterday HR monitor has stopped working. In HR widget, I see only three dash instead of reading ---. I have checked all settings- HR recording is on. Activity tracking is on. I switched these on/off to see if this revives HR. No result.
