So, I think the extra couple degrees of rotation at each pin would result in more chain wear; reducing its life. Second, the smaller radius (shorter lever) would increases the load on the sprocket, at the chain, to transmit.

For reference, I've rebuilt forks from at least 10 other bikes, so I'm no newbie, but this is the first time I've touched "Gold" forks.
