Daughter's car having intermittent horn and volume control problems. Didn't appear to be linked to the 2 known problems that GM are prepared to fix FOC (i.e. horn doesn't work with lights on and horn raises radio volume). Spoke to main stealer and he offered to run diagnostics at ÂŁ60 a pop which would be refunded if problem caused by the 2
2) check the wires under the engine where the horn are connection no damage wire. 3) switch light on sidelight on fog light on. 4) using the panel brightness up and down. 5) radio volume up and down. i have try different ways to find out why the horn not working and seem i cannot find anything it seem that it might be cim faults why it have to
Just checking some bits before it goes for an mot and it’s having an issue with the horn. When pushed it doesn’t work. Had a read up and they are known for the cim to go but no matter what variation of lights/dash lights it won’t work. Plugged opcom in and ran a test on the horn and it sounded with no issues. Any ideas?
While the horn is removed, check it by connecting it directly to the battery . Place the horn with its metal casing (or a terminal if there are two) against the battery negative terminal . Clip a test lead between the other horn terminal and the other battery terminal. If the horn works, refit it. If not, repair it if possible or replace it.

The horn would of been continuous since the repair in. 2010. It could easily be overlooked because certain things need to be going on to create the environment for the horn not to work. As one of the links above shows if the vehicle has had the CUstomer satisfaction program done and it has not solved the problem then a complete CIM should be done.
