Figure 8 Remove the three 10mm nuts holding the window regulator in place (green arrows). Once the 10mm nuts are removed push the regulator back into the door. Figure 9 Now rotate the window regulator so it can be removed through the opening in the door. Reverse the removal steps to install a new regulator in the door.
Sounds like the shaft is the correct diagnosis. The symptoms in this link match mine. Fixing a BMW Valvetronic eccentric shaft failure codes. my 2011 335i xdrive had the eccentric shaft and motor replaced and it ended up being a "bad" engine module. I drove it in, with the check engine light on and rough idle as my concerns.
